The Simbodies Full Leg Major Injury Task Trainer is a full-length anatomically accurate leg trainer — handmade from Prosthetic Grade Platinum Silicone — featuring a severe lower leg injury with exposed internal bone and muscle, integrated bleeding tubes driven by a manual pump, and a weighted upper leg design. Trains tourniquet application, wound packing, bandaging, and hemostatic agent use. Available in Light Skin (TR0232-03), Tan Skin (TR0232-02), and Dark Skin (TR0232-01).

Product Overview
Most leg task trainers simulate a single wound type — a gunshot through-and-through, or a simple laceration. The Simbodies Full Leg Major Injury Task Trainer is built around a more complex and clinically demanding scenario: a severe lower leg injury with exposed bone and muscle that combines the visual and procedural challenges of open fracture management with active hemorrhage. The exposed internal anatomy — visible bone and simulated muscle tissue — creates the visual stress inoculation that prepares trainees for the psychological challenge of high-severity orthopedic-hemorrhagic trauma.
The manually pumped bleeding system allows instructors to control hemorrhage intensity and timing — simulating pulsatile arterial flow, continuous venous bleeding, or intermittent bleeding as the scenario requires. Trainees apply tourniquets, pack wounds with hemostatic agents, and secure bandages against a limb that behaves with the weight and resistance of a real leg. The weighted upper leg is a significant training design decision: applying a tourniquet to a weightless plastic model requires different technique than applying one to a 13-lb silicone limb that resists and shifts, and the weighted design closes this training-to-reality gap.
Three skin tone options (Light, Tan, Dark) allow training programs to expose students to the full range of wound presentation across skin types, building the visual recognition skills needed for real-world assessment without the cognitive disruption of encountering unfamiliar skin tone presentations for the first time on a live patient. The washable silicone construction supports repeated use across training cycles.
