Product Overview
Medical tape is one of the most frequently needed but most awkwardly packaged items in a tactical medical kit. Standard tape rolls tumble in pouches, become difficult to find under stress, and are nearly impossible to handle and start cleanly while wearing gloves. The TacMed™ Tape Board solves these problems with a purpose-built flat format that stores flush against kit walls and includes a pre-started pull tab.
Five feet of tape — sufficient for multiple dressing securement tasks, IV site taping, tourniquet time annotation, or improvised airway adjunct securing — is folded flat on a thin rigid board approximately the size of an index card. The small folded-over end tab is pre-started so the tape can be grabbed and pulled immediately with gloved hands, without fingernail searching or wasted first-unwind. The board itself provides stiffness that prevents the tape from wrinkling, tearing, or tangling in the pouch.
Two material variants are available: duct tape (MEDTAC0906), which provides maximum adhesion for securing dressings over wound packing, IV lines, and field-fabricated splints; and surgical tape (MEDTAC0907), which offers a more skin-conforming, gentler adhesion appropriate for IV catheter site dressing, NPA securing, or sensitive skin applications. Both variants are standard IFAK kit components frequently included in Basic IFAK builds.
