What is the Army CLS Resupply Kit used for?

The Army CLS Resupply Kit is designed to fully replenish a Combat Life Saver (CLS) kit after field use. It provides a complete set of NAR's CoTCCC-recommended supplies — tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, airway adjuncts, chest seals, needle decompression kits, and more — sufficient for a trained CLS to treat 2–4 additional casualties. The resealable bag allows partial deployment with the remaining contents staying protected in storage.

Which hemostatic gauze variant should I choose — Combat Gauze or ChitoGauze XR PRO?

Both are CoTCCC-recommended hemostatic dressings. Combat Gauze® (kaolin-based) is the #1 CoTCCC-recommended hemostatic dressing and the most widely deployed in U.S. military units. ChitoGauze XR PRO uses chitosan, which provides additional antimicrobial properties and is preferred by some agencies with anti-coagulated patient populations. Units should select the variant that aligns with their existing medical SOP.

Does the CLS Resupply Kit include needle decompression supplies?

Yes. The kit includes two ARS® (Anterior Release System) Needle Decompression Kits, each 14 G × 3.25 in., which meet CoTCCC guidelines for treatment of tension pneumothorax — the second leading cause of preventable combat death. Two HyFin® Chest Seals are also included for occlusive chest wound management.

Is the Army CLS Resupply Kit Berry Amendment compliant?

The kit is manufactured by North American Rescue, which produces many products meeting Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C. § 2533a) domestic sourcing requirements. How is the CLS Resupply Kit packaged?

The kit is delivered in a durable, easy-to-open resealable plastic bag measuring H 14 in. × W 14 in. × D 5 in. and weighing 4 lb 14 oz. The resealable design allows units to extract only what is needed for an immediate resupply while keeping remaining components protected in storage until next use.
