PRODUCT INFORMATION

The corpuls CPR is a professional electro-mechanical chest compression device delivering fully automated CPR with adjustable compression depth (2–6 cm) and rate (80–120/min) via a piston-driven single-arm design. It synchronizes seamlessly with the corpuls3 monitor/defibrillator, supports patients aged 8 and older regardless of weight or thorax width, and operates for 90 minutes per battery in EMS, air rescue, and in-hospital settings.

Product Overview

Consistent, guideline-compliant chest compressions — maintained without fatigue, positional compromise, or therapy interruption during patient movement — are the engineering problem that the corpuls CPR solves. Developed by corpuls in Germany, this piston-driven mechanical chest compression device delivers fully automated CPR in three therapy modes, with compression depth and rate independently adjustable in fine increments, and no restrictions on patient weight or thorax width beyond a 14–34 cm thorax height range and a minimum age of 8 years.

The device's defining design advantage over competing mechanical CPR systems is its single rotating arm. Unlike full-circumference compression devices, the corpuls CPR arm mounts to one side of the patient and swivels freely, providing unrestricted access to the entire upper body for procedures during resuscitation — ECG lead placement, IV/IO access, defibrillation pad positioning, airway management, and coronary angiography. The three all-radiolucent resuscitation boards (Recboard for EMS, Quadboard for hospital, Scoopboard for air rescue) enable CT and fluoroscopic imaging during ongoing compressions without artefacts, a capability the European Resuscitation Council specifically supports for resuscitation in the catheterization laboratory.

When connected to a corpuls3 via Bluetooth, the corpuls CPR transitions from a standalone device to a fully integrated, automatically controlled component of the resuscitation team. The corpuls3 controls start/stop, adjusts therapy parameters, and coordinates pre-shock pauses and post-shock resumption — reducing cognitive load on the team leader and minimizing hands-off time to guideline-compliant levels. Two LiPo batteries (each providing approximately 90 minutes of runtime) ship with the device, and hot-swapping during therapy is supported with 30-second parameter retention.

Four-Step Deployment

  1. Preparation: Mount the corpuls CPR arm on the chosen board; power on.
  2. Attach: Open the locking lever; position the arm over the patient's thorax.
  3. Adjust & Start: Set compression depth and confirm stamp position (LED green when correct); close locking lever; press START/STOP.
  4. Transport: Fix board to stretcher (Recboard); connect to corpuls3 (optional); switch to DC power for uninterrupted therapy during transport.
