Enthält

ein 3ml (1) beschriftetes Röhrchen mit Schraubverschluss und nicht-vermehrendem Virustransportmedium für den Transport klinischer Proben
und ein Aufreißbeutel mit einem oder zwei Probenentnahmetupfern

Tupfer bestehen aus einem massiven Schaft aus geformtem Kunststoff und die Spitze ist mit kurzen Nylon®-Fasern beschichtet, die senkrecht zum Schaft angeordnet sind.

Unser herkömmliches Virustransportmedium besteht hauptsächlich aus modifizierter Hank'scher Salzlösung, Rinderserumalbumin, Aminosäuren und Glucose. Der pH-Wert wird mit einem HEPES-Puffer gepuffert. Phenolrot wird zur Anzeige des pH-Werts verwendet. Gentamicin und Amphotericin B werden in das Medium eingearbeitet, um konkurrierende Bakterien und Hefen zu hemmen. Das Medium ist isotonisch und ungiftig.

Nachdem die Proben mit dem Tupfer entnommen wurden, wird dieser zur Lagerung und zum Transport in das Konservierungsröhrchen gegeben.
