Product Overview
The Mojo® Pocket Bleeder Kit – ADVANCED represents Safeguard Medical's maximum-capability configuration in pocket form. It closes the capability gap left by simpler kits by adding Battle Wrap — a high-strength, see-through cohesive wrap that anchors packed gauze in place after wound packing. This step is critical: without a securement wrap, packed hemostatic gauze can be displaced by patient movement or continued blood flow, losing its clotting advantage. The transparent Battle Wrap allows visual monitoring of wound status without removal of the dressing.
The CoTCCC-recommended mechanical tourniquet in this configuration provides windlass-type arterial occlusion — the standard approach for extremity hemorrhage in the TCCC MARCH protocol. When an extremity tourniquet cannot be applied (junctional wound, torso injury), the Celox™ Rapid gauze addresses the bleed through wound packing. Together, these two tools cover the majority of life-threatening hemorrhage scenarios a responder will encounter.
Safeguard Medical designed the Mojo® system around a belt-mountable, pocket-sized profile that allows first responders to maintain an immediately accessible hemorrhage control capability even when they are not wearing a full tactical rig. Law enforcement officers in plainclothes, duty officers in soft uniform, off-duty personnel, and civilians in non-permissive environments can carry the ADVANCED without any visible gear signature. At 6.9 oz and approximately credit-card × 2 in thickness, the kit stores in a cargo pocket, jacket pocket, or IFAK side pocket without compromise.
Application Sequence
- Don gloves — barrier protection before contact with blood.
- Assess — identify the source of bleeding and determine if a tourniquet (limb) or gauze packing (wound/junctional) is the appropriate first intervention.
- Tourniquet (if limb bleed) — apply tourniquet 2–3 inches proximal to the wound; tighten until bleeding stops; note time.
- Pack with Celox™ Rapid (if wound pack indicated) — pack gauze firmly into wound cavity; apply direct pressure for 60 seconds to allow chitosan clot formation.
- Secure with Battle Wrap — wrap firmly over the packed gauze to maintain pressure and prevent displacement; Battle Wrap's transparency allows wound monitoring.
- Reference Card — consult MARCH™ Quick Reference Card for next steps and transfer-of-care documentation.
