Blue banding on NAR training tourniquets is the universal training-only designation, ensuring that trainer devices are never confused with operational red-band tourniquets and accidentally deployed in a live-casualty situation. The C-A-T Blue Trainer replicates the exact application, windlass, and securing process of the operational C-A-T Gen 7, building identical procedural memory while preventing cross-contamination of training and operational equipment.

Does this IFAK Kit include a real chest seal or a trainer version?

The kit includes a HyFin® Chest Seal Trainer Twin Pack — a training analogue that simulates the peel-and-press application process of the HyFin Vent Chest Seal without live adhesive and occlusive dressing properties. This allows students to practice placement and technique repeatedly without consuming single-use live supplies. The trainer chest seal is not suitable for actual casualty care and is for training purposes only.

The TCCC IFAK Skills Kit – All Combatant (SKU 85-1958) is a single individual training IFAK. The individual kit is ideal for topping off a set, restocking depleted stations, or issuing to students for take-home reinforcement.
