Overview
The North American Rescue Vehicle Headrest IFAK Kit is NAR's purpose-built individual first aid kit in a headrest-mount format, delivering maximum trauma-care capability in a minimal vehicle footprint. At H5.25×W7.25×D4.25 in and 1.62 lb, it installs directly onto vehicle headrest posts and provides a two-tourniquet, dual-chest-seal, dual-ETD trauma load that addresses the full spectrum of life-threatening traumatic injuries encountered in law enforcement, military, and high-risk civilian settings.
The Basic variant includes NAR Wound Packing Gauze for standard wound packing; the Combat Gauze variants upgrade to Z-fold QuikClot Combat Gauze — CoTCCC-recommended for its superior hemostatic performance in extremity and junctional hemorrhage. Both kit types are available in Black and Coyote Tan to match vehicle color profiles and department aesthetics.
The dual tourniquet load (2×C-A-T® Orange TQs) is a deliberate design choice: one for self-aid on an injured extremity and one for immediate buddy aid or a second casualty at the vehicle. Combined with 2 HyFin® Vent Chest Seals and 2 ETDs, this kit is configured to treat the three top causes of preventable combat and tactical death — severe hemorrhage, tension pneumothorax, and airway failure.
