The MED-TAC Wound Clamp Pack Duo combines the ITClamp® hemorrhage control device with two North American Rescue Wound Pack Gauze packets — pairing mechanical wound closure technology with proven hemostatic gauze in a single bundle. Purpose-built for advanced hemorrhage control in wounds not amenable to tourniquet application, this bundle gives medics and responders redundant, complementary tools for managing junctional, cervical, and open soft-tissue bleeding in combat and high-threat environments.

Product Overview
Extremity hemorrhage is effectively managed by tourniquet application, but wounds to the neck, groin, axilla, and trunk — junctional wounds — cannot receive tourniquet treatment. These wounds represent some of the most immediately life-threatening bleeding scenarios in both combat and civilian trauma: femoral artery injuries in the groin, carotid or jugular injuries in the neck, and subclavian injuries in the axilla can cause fatal hemorrhage in under two minutes. The Wound Clamp Pack Duo combines two advanced tools for managing exactly these scenarios: the ITClamp® wound closure device and North American Rescue Wound Pack Gauze.
The ITClamp® is a mechanical hemorrhage control device that works by approximating wound edges with a series of micro-locking teeth across a clamp body — rapidly closing the wound opening and creating a stable pressurized hematoma that controls bleeding until the patient reaches surgical care. The ITClamp can be applied in seconds by a trained medic even under difficult field conditions, including low-light environments and situations where the medic has limited manual dexterity due to protective equipment, stress, or adverse conditions. The device has demonstrated utility in cervical, junctional, and truncal bleeding scenarios where traditional packing and pressure techniques are difficult to maintain under active movement or patient transport conditions.
The two included North American Rescue Wound Pack Gauze packets provide the deep wound packing capability that complements the ITClamp's surface closure mechanism. For wounds that are too large or irregular for clamp coverage alone, wound packing with compressed gauze — followed by sustained direct pressure — remains the foundational technique in MARCH-protocol hemorrhage management. The NAR gauze packets are vacuum-sealed in compact, highly absorbent format, making them suitable for direct wound packing, deep cavity packing, and use in conjunction with external pressure application. Two packets provide redundancy and the ability to address multiple wounds or repack a wound if the initial packing becomes saturated.
Component Overview
ITClamp® Hemorrhage Control Device
- Mechanical wound edge closure via micro-locking teeth
- Creates a stable hematoma to control hemorrhage without direct packing access
- Applicable in seconds; designed for one-handed or assisted field use
- Used by military and tactical medical teams in high-threat environments worldwide
- Particularly effective for neck, groin, axilla, and scalp wounds
- Bridges the gap between junctional tourniquet capability and direct pressure/packing
NAR Wound Pack Gauze (×2)
- High-quality compressed gauze from North American Rescue — an industry-leading tactical medical manufacturer
- Vacuum-sealed for sterility and compact storage in IFAK and trauma pouches
- Highly absorbent; designed for direct wound packing and deep cavity hemorrhage control
- Two packets provide redundancy for multiple wounds or wound repacking
- Compatible with direct pressure, wound packing protocols, and use under tourniquet application pressure
Wound Types Best Suited for This Bundle
- Neck / cervical wounds — cannot receive tourniquet; ITClamp provides rapid mechanical closure
- Groin / femoral triangle — junctional anatomy prevents tourniquet; wound packing + ITClamp covers the gap
- Axilla / subclavian — high-hemorrhage potential; packing and clamp provide staged control
- Large scalp lacerations — high blood loss, difficult to pack; ITClamp achieves rapid wound edge approximation
- Large open soft tissue wounds — gauze packing followed by external pressure or ITClamp coverage
