No — and by design. The Altama OTB Maritime Assault Low is built for full water immersion, not water resistance. It is designed to allow water in and drain it out rapidly, not to exclude water. A waterproof membrane in an OTB boot would trap water once it entered above the ankle — the opposite of what maritime operations require. The combination of active drain ports, non-absorbing insole, and air mesh lining achieves rapid drainage and quick-dry performance rather than waterproof exclusion.

Can these boots be used for everyday tactical wear, not just maritime operations?

Yes. The Altama OTB Maritime Assault Low performs well as a general-purpose low-cut tactical shoe in warm and temperate environments.
