The Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig MKII M4 bridges the gap between a minimal chest rig and a light plate carrier, adding an integrated fold-out armor plate pocket to the classic chest-worn magazine harness form factor. The five front M4 magazine pouches are closed by hook-and-loop rather than bungee, providing a quieter, lower-profile retention system suited for static and low-movement operations where snap-free silent extraction is prioritized. The two side pockets close with zipper for positive retention of loose items — radios, rations, medical gear — in a 1-liter bottle-compatible volume.

The fold-out armor plate pocket is the feature that most distinguishes the MKII from conventional chest rigs. For operations that do not require the full protection of a plate carrier but benefit from the option of front plate coverage — patrol operations where a plate carrier would be cumbersome, or rapid-response staging where the chest rig is pre-positioned and the plate requirement is situational — the fold-out pocket allows an armor plate to be added or removed without changing the base platform. This modularity supports flexible response calibrations without requiring the operator to change into different equipment.

CORDURA® 700D occupies TT's "sweet spot" fabric specification — the 700D weight provides abrasion resistance approaching 1000D heavy-duty nylon while reducing system weight closer to the 500D light-duty standard. For a chest rig worn primarily as a magazine and accessory carrier, 700D provides adequate durability without the dead weight of heavier fabrics. The MOLLE system throughout all major attachment areas provides full modularity for additional pouches, medical accessories, or admin panels as mission requirements evolve.
