The TacMed™ LAPD Pouch is a law enforcement-specific leg/belt-mounted medical pouch designed to the precise specifications of the Los Angeles Police Department and LA Sheriff's Department. Available with a 2" adjustable belt attachment strap and integrated black D-ring, it attaches directly to a duty belt or to a tourniquet pouch, with a detachable lower section for modular capability. Product Overview
The TacMed™ LAPD Pouch was purpose-built to the specifications of the Los Angeles Police Department, designed in collaboration with LAPD to address a specific challenge: law enforcement officers wearing a fully loaded duty belt have limited body real estate. The solution was a pouch designed to hang off the existing belt or off a tourniquet pouch already on the belt — utilizing existing hardware rather than requiring additional mounting infrastructure.
The detachable lower section is the key design innovation. When the full pouch is worn, the officer has maximum medical capability. In situations where they only need the tourniquet (already accessible on the belt), the detachable lower portion provides the remaining trauma supplies separately. This configuration is specifically designed around LAPD's patrol protocols and remains the preferred setup for LA County law enforcement agencies including the Sheriff's Department.
The 2" adjustable belt attachment strap provides a secure fit across a wide range of duty belts. The integrated black D-ring is a rapid attachment point that allows the pouch to be quickly clipped to a belt keeper or key ring attachment — a critical feature when transferring the kit to another officer or transitioning to a different carry position. Intended Wear Configuration
The LAPD Pouch is designed to work in conjunction with a tourniquet pouch on the duty belt. The officer wears a tourniquet in an accessible pouch on the belt and attaches the LAPD Pouch to that pouch via the strap. This keeps the tourniquet instantly available while the LAPD Pouch provides supplemental bleeding control, airway, and wound treatment capability immediately below. The D-ring provides a backup rapid attachment option to a belt keeper or key clip in an emergency.
