Product Overview
The TacMed™ Uniformed Medical Kit Gen 2 addresses one of the most significant gaps in officer safety: the lack of readily accessible medical gear under a patrol uniform. The UMK 2nd Generation is designed to mount directly to the inside of any concealed body armor carrier that utilizes hook-and-loop straps — a near-universal feature of soft armor for law enforcement — keeping a complete individual trauma kit on the officer's body at all times without visible signature under the uniform shirt.
The Gen 2 redesign moved all pockets behind a flat panel, eliminating the imprinting through the duty shirt that was a limitation of the original UMK. The new flexible stretch material conforms to the vest shape and the officer's body profile, reducing both print-through and physical discomfort during long patrol shifts. The sides of the UMK can be trimmed with scissors for a custom fit to any specific armor carrier, accommodating the wide variety of concealable vest configurations used across departments.
The UMK Gen 2 is specifically sized for a SOF® Tourniquet-Wide, a set of chest seals, a hemostatic agent, and an Esmark bandage — the core supplies needed to treat the leading causes of potentially preventable death from penetrating trauma. This equips individual officers to initiate self-aid or buddy-aid immediately following a shooting or stabbing, in the critical minutes before EMS arrives.
