Product Overview

The Tasmanian Tiger IFAK Pouch Small MKII is the updated version of one of the most popular compact IFAK pouches in European military and police use. At 15 × 15 × 4.5 cm and 160 g, it is small enough to mount virtually anywhere — a plate carrier cummerbund, a backpack shoulder strap, a chest rig, or a 50 mm belt — without significantly affecting your loadout profile. Yet it's capable enough to hold a meaningful trauma loadout including a tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, and pressure dressing.

The MKII generation added a reversible pull tab design: the indexing tab shows red or black depending on which side faces out, giving the user a visual status indicator or allowing a low-visibility configuration. This is a practical improvement over the original "S" version which had a fixed tab. Both the fold-open hook-and-loop access and the pull-out panel system allow for quick content retrieval — you can either fold the pouch open fully or pull the entire panel out from either side.

The MOLLE Reverse System used by Tasmanian Tiger is a low-profile attachment method — the MOLLE webs are routed through the back of the pouch rather than exposed on the front, creating a cleaner exterior with no snagging points. This same MOLLE Reverse System is compatible with all Tasmanian Tiger plate carriers and most standard PALS platforms. The 50 mm belt compatibility is a separate option, requiring the belt to be threaded through an integrated loop on the rear.

CLINICAL RATIONALE

Purpose-built for time-critical care.

Both pouches standardize access via a clearly indexed pull and a pull-out panel that presents tools the same way every time—supporting rapid hemorrhage control and airway adjunct deployment under stress.

The MKII’s slimmer 4.5 cm profile and 160 g mass reduce snag points and belt-line bulk, improving range of motion and shortening reach time without changing the trained pull-and-deploy workflow.

Agencies prioritizing minimal profile and mobility should favor MKII; users needing a touch more internal volume or who must fit 2-loop/4-across layouts can select the original S with no change to indexing or training.
