Product Overview
The Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) design standard was developed by the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and became the primary issued combat helmet for U.S. military forces beginning in the early 2000s, replacing the older PASGT design with improved ballistic protection, reduced weight, and expanded accessory compatibility. Chase Tactical's Striker ACH carries forward this proven design with current-generation Kevlar® composite construction and enhanced interior comfort systems that make it equally at home on law enforcement tactical teams as on military personnel.
The standard-cut ACH profile provides full side coverage including the temporal region — a critical protection zone absent in high-cut configurations. For officers and personnel who do not routinely use over-the-ear communications systems during operations, the standard cut offers superior ballistic coverage of the lateral head while still accommodating standard hearing protection ear cups. The Striker ACH is particularly well suited for patrol-level tactical units, corrections emergency response teams (CERT), and civil unrest response units that require robust all-around head protection without the specialized communications integration needs of entry teams.
NIJ Standard 0106.01 testing requires the helmet to defeat 9mm FMJ Round Nose (124 gr at 1,400 ft/s), .357 Magnum JSP (158 gr at 1,395 ft/s), and .44 Magnum SJHP (240 gr at 1,400 ft/s) without complete penetration. Chase Tactical's Kevlar® shell meets these requirements as confirmed by an NVLAP-accredited ballistic testing laboratory. The helmet's D3O 7-point ACH pad system reduces blunt-impact TBI risk — addressing the fact that a stopped ballistic round still transfers significant kinetic energy to the wearer.
