The MED-TAC Active Shooter Response/SAR Pack is a purpose-built medical response backpack designed for scenarios where multiple victims require simultaneous care — active shooter events, mass casualty incidents, and search-and-rescue operations where a responder or team leader must carry enough treatment kits for 8 patients in a single bag. Made by RB Fabrications in Ohio from DuPont® Cordura® using US-sourced materials since 1971, this is American-manufactured professional-grade medical carry equipment.
The slim-tapered profile is a deliberate design choice for active threat environments: a standard rectangular backpack creates a wide, high-profile silhouette that impedes movement through doorways, vehicle entries, and tight corridors while simultaneously increasing the carrier's visible profile. The tapered pack contours to the body and eliminates the bulk that creates hazards during tactical movement or concealment operations. All three zippered pockets deploy rapidly, and the full-length Velcro® compatible foam in the main compartment allows custom organization of treatment kit contents with hook-and-loop retention.
The convertible Velcro® divider in the main compartment provides adjustable separation for different sized treatment kits, and the MOLLE webbing on the middle compartment exterior supports additional accessory attachment. The two removable outer pockets expand carry capacity for non-medical items (communications equipment, ID cards, gloves) without consuming internal medical kit space. The complete carry system — padded shoulder straps, chest strap, waist strap, and web handle — adapts to running, walking, or vehicle egress without adjustment.
