SIMBODIES manikins are manufactured from prosthetic-grade platinum silicone — a material chosen for its exceptional tactile realism and durability — but high-frequency high-impact procedures like intraosseous (IO) needle insertion and bone replacement, repeated wound packing, and needle decompression will eventually require skin surface maintenance. The SIMBODIES Skin Repair Kit provides everything needed to restore the manikin's surface to full training condition between heavy-use sessions, extending equipment life and maintaining the realism that makes SIMBODIES trainers effective.

The core repair system is a two-part pigmented platinum silicone (Parts A and B), formulated to match the specific skin tone of each manikin SKU variant. When mixed in the proper ratio using the included spatulas and paper pots, the resulting silicone cures to a patch that is color-matched, skin-safe, and mechanically similar to the original manikin surface. The T-pins hold patches in position during the cure cycle, while cling film provides a non-stick mixing and working surface.

Repair Process Overview

1. Clean the repair area with alcohol wipes, then make-up wipes to remove residue
2. Mix silicone Parts A and B in equal proportions in a paper pot using a flat spatula
3. Apply mixed silicone to the damaged area using the spatula, smoothing to match the surrounding surface
4. Use T-pins to hold any lifted edges in position during the cure period
5. Allow to cure fully before resuming training procedures on the repaired area
