Product Overview
The TacMed™ Field Blood Transfusion Kit was developed at the direct request of Special Operations Forces medics who needed a compact, tactically deployable solution for whole blood transfusion in austere environments. Unlike hospital-based transfusion protocols requiring refrigeration, cross-match labs, and banked blood inventory, the FBTK enables a "walking blood bank" approach: a screened, voluntarily donating unit member provides fresh whole blood to a critically bleeding casualty in the field.
The kit's Donor and Recipient module architecture separates the collection and administration workflows into distinct, systematically organized supply sets. This reduces the risk of confusion during high-stress casualty care and allows one provider to work the donor side while a second manages recipient access — or allows a single medic to sequentially complete both tasks without rummaging through an unsorted supply collection. Each module includes blood type screening via the Eldon card system, allowing rapid ABO/Rh compatibility verification before transfusion.
Available in a lightweight vacuum-sealed resealable bag or in durable MOLLE-compatible pouches in four color options (Coyote Tan, Multicam, Ranger Green, Black), the FBTK integrates directly into existing MOLLE-equipped medical kits and plate carriers. The 6.5 in × 5 in footprint fits standard MOLLE medical pouches for seamless integration into any tactical medical loadout.
