The OLAES® (One-Handed Low-profile Emergency Sterile) is a CoTCCC-recommended modular pressure dressing that addresses a common IFAK gap: the need for both a wound-packing dressing and an occlusive chest seal in the same kit without doubling the item count. The OLAES® stores a plastic occlusive sheet within the dressing pocket — letting the medic use a single item for hemorrhage control and, if needed, repurpose the occlusive sheet as a chest seal for a penetrating thoracic wound. This multifunction approach maximizes capability within the kit's compact footprint.
