Product Overview
The Tasmanian Tiger Small Medic Pack MKII fills the critical role of the individual operator medical bag — compact enough to be worn continuously as a hip bag, with enough volume (3 liters / 183 cubic inches) to carry a full Combat Lifesaver (CLS) kit. At 25 oz (700g) empty and measuring 10×6×5 inches, the MKII adds meaningful medical capacity without the bulk and weight of a larger medic pack. It is particularly well-suited for infantry soldiers, patrol officers, and individual first responders who carry their own CLS kit as part of their operational load-out.
The parallel zipper design for hip-bag access is a deliberate ergonomic choice: both zippers pull toward the center of the bag face, allowing the bag to be opened completely in one fluid motion from either side. This access geometry is optimized for one-handed opening when the bag is worn on the hip, minimizing the time from need to first item retrieved. The integrated scissors fixation secures trauma shears in a dedicated location accessible without opening the main compartment. The LP MOLLE system on the exterior allows attachment of additional small pouches — tourniquet holders, chest seal pouches — to expand capacity without replacing the bag.
Three carry modes — hip bag, shoulder bag via detachable strap, and direct attachment to vests and hip belt systems — allow the MKII to adapt across different carriage configurations without modification. For mounted operations, the bag can be staged on a vehicle seat or door. For dismounted patrol, it rides the hip or attaches to body armor MOLLE. The Multicam color option makes this pack compatible with units fielding the Army Combat Uniform (ACU-Multicam) pattern. CORDURA® 700D construction and YKK zippers ensure long-term field durability.
