Product Overview

Ballistic eye protection is a critical component of the TCCC equipment standard — ocular injuries account for a disproportionate percentage of permanent combat disabilities, and most are preventable with properly certified eyewear. The BOLLÉ COMBAT represents the current generation of hybrid tactical glasses that provide military-certified ballistic protection in a platform lightweight and practical enough for sustained wear. Dual certification under both MIL-PRF-31013 (the primary U.S. military ballistic eyewear standard) and MIL-PRF-32432 means these glasses have been tested and verified to stop fragmentation at military-specified velocities and impact energies.

The "Combat Kit" designation refers to the inclusion of multiple lens variants in a single package — allowing the operator to swap lenses to match the lighting environment. Clear lenses are appropriate for indoor, low-light, and night operations. Smoke (13% VLT) lenses provide excellent protection in full daylight and bright environments. The CSP (Contrast Sensitivity Performance) lens is optimized for variable or transitional light conditions — moving between indoor/outdoor environments, dawn/dusk operations, and high-contrast scenarios where a fixed tint creates visual disadvantage.

The Platinum® ASAF coating is permanent — unlike topical anti-fog treatments that wear off with field use, ASAF is integrated into the lens material at manufacture. This ensures consistent anti-fog and anti-scratch performance throughout the eyewear's service life, including in humid, high-perspiration, and temperature-change environments that would defeat topical coatings. The non-slip nose bridge maintains position without adjustment during dynamic movement, and the wrap-around panoramic frame minimizes peripheral blind spots that standard shooting glasses create.

MIL-PRF-31013 vs. MIL-PRF-32432

MIL-PRF-31013 is the U.S. military's primary ballistic fragmentation eyewear specification, requiring lenses to withstand a 0.15 caliber (5.8 mm) steel ball at a minimum velocity of 640–660 ft/s (195–201 m/s). This standard applies to the ballistic performance of the lens itself.
MIL-PRF-32432 is an enhanced specification that tests the entire eyewear assembly (lens, frame, and retention system) at higher impact velocities. Dual certification under both standards represents the most comprehensive ballistic testing available for tactical eyewear.
