Conventional tourniquets are among the most effective hemorrhage-control tools available, but they are anatomically constrained to the extremities. Wounds in the inguinal (groin), axillary (armpit), and other junctional regions are among the most lethal in penetrating trauma precisely because no standard tourniquet can be placed above them. The TQ-RAM was built to address this gap: by integrating with the TMT’s strap, its arched dome delivers concentrated, sustained compression over a packed wound or arterial pressure point — freeing the responder’s hands to manage the airway, establish access, or treat additional casualties.
At 0.62 oz and 4.0" × 2.5", the TQ-RAM adds negligible bulk to a kit. Its arched-dome geometry focuses pressure inward to the wound bed rather than distributing it broadly like a flat pad, providing the equivalent of directed manual pressure without continuous hand engagement.
