Product Overview
The Altama OTB Maritime Assault Boot – Low Height was developed specifically for Over-The-Beach (OTB) amphibious operations — military missions requiring personnel to transition from water to land, operate in and around salt water, and maintain tactical mobility across wet surfaces. The design solves each problem that standard tactical boots create in aquatic environments: absorbed water weight, slipping on wet decks and rock surfaces, difficulty with dive fin compatibility, and drain time after water immersion.
The front non-metallic drain ports are positioned at the lateral flex point of the forefoot — as the wearer flexes the boot during a stride, the ports actively pump water out rather than requiring the boot to drain passively. The 1000D Cordura® quarter panels dry rapidly due to the material's open weave relative to standard nylon, while the air mesh lining wicks moisture from the foot surface to accelerate the dry-down process. The Ultron PU insole is non-water-absorbing by material composition — it does not retain water weight that would add to the operator's load over the course of a mission.
SEAL sticky rubber outsoles — a compound developed for rock climbing — provide exceptional wet-surface traction on ship decks, aluminum caving ladders, and rocky shorelines. The full-length ABS shank transfers load from the boot flexion to the wearer's leg structure during ladder climbing, preventing the calf and arch fatigue that occurs when wearing flexible-soled footwear under heavy load. The oversized pull loops — sized for dive gloves — allow donning and adjustment while wearing full hands protection without requiring dexterity.
