Is the ATAK case truly waterproof, or just water-resistant?

The Amphibious Trauma Kit uses a watertight hard case with a gasket seal rated to protect contents from submersion. It is not rated for sustained deep-water pressure diving; it is designed for surface water exposure: rain, spray, splash, and brief submersion common to maritime and water-sport environments.

Are the CoTCCC-recommended items (C-A-T® and QuikClot®) included in the base ATAK?

Yes. The standard Amphibious Trauma Kit includes two C-A-T® tourniquets (CoTCCC-recommended #1 tourniquet) and two QuikClot® Z-Fold hemostatic dressings (CoTCCC-recommended). The HyFin® Vent chest seal twin pack (also CoTCCC-recommended) is included for penetrating chest trauma.

What training is needed to use the ATAK effectively?

The ATAK is a comprehensive trauma kit spanning tourniquet application, hemostatic packing, chest seal placement, and splinting. At minimum, users should complete a Stop the Bleed® or TECC course; maritime professionals and military users should complete TCCC or PHTLS training to employ the full kit capability.

Does the ATAK meet any NSN or government procurement standard?

NAR kits are available through GSA and DLA contracts. For current NSN and contract vehicle information for the ATAK, contact MED-TAC International's government sales team.

Can the kit be resupplied after use?

All individual components (C-A-T® tourniquets, QuikClot® gauze, HyFin® chest seals, ETDs) are available as individual items through tactical-medicine.com for resupply. NAR does not currently offer a factory-sealed resupply kit specifically for the ATAK.
