Product Overview
Chase Tactical's DOS Modular Plate Carrier combines the proven ergonomics of the brand's plate carrier lineup with an outer shell architecture designed for modular load-out configuration. The DOS designation reflects the dual outer shell: a hard-armor plate pocket is integrated into both the front and rear carrier body, sized to accept standard 10"×12" hard armor plates, while the exterior Mil-Spec MOLLE webbing allows attachment of magazine pouches, medical kits, IFAK holders, communication accessories, and hydration systems.
Chase Tactical manufactures all their nylon goods to U.S. Military specifications, using Mil-Spec IR-treated 500D Cordura throughout the DOS construction. IR treatment at the fabric source — rather than post-production coating — ensures the carrier maintains a minimal infrared signature under night-observation devices (NODs), a critical operational consideration for tactical personnel and military units. The 500D denier weight provides an excellent balance of tear resistance and mass; heavy enough for duty use, light enough to avoid contributing meaningfully to carried weight.
The padded, fully adjustable shoulder straps distribute the load of a loaded plate carrier across the trapezius and shoulder muscles, reducing hot spots during extended wear. The elastic cummerbund provides lateral torso coverage and maintains carrier alignment during dynamic movement — running, mounting vehicles, or breaching — without requiring a rigid side panel system. One-size-fits-most adjustability makes the DOS an efficient choice for agencies or units requiring a standardized carrier across diverse personnel body types.
MOLLE Load-Out Capability
- Full MOLLE/PALS webbing across the front panel — accommodates triple-mag pouches, admin pouches, or medical IFAK inserts
- Rear MOLLE panel — drag handle integration point and rear utility pouch mounting
- Side cummerbund webbing — additional mounting for tourniquet holders, radio pouches, or IFAK kits
- Hook & loop placard area on front — compatible with quick-detach pouch panel systems
Platform Compatibility
The DOS is designed to receive standard 10"×12" hard armor plates (Shooter's Cut or SAPI Cut) in both front and rear positions. It is compatible with Level III and Level IV ceramic, UHMWPE, and steel hard armor inserts from leading manufacturers. For operators requiring soft armor coverage in addition to hard plates, the front and rear pockets can accommodate soft armor backers (such as the Chase Tactical SA3920 IIIA panels or NcStar VISM soft panels) placed behind the hard plates.
