PRODUCT INFORMATION
North American Rescue · Rapid Infusion
LIFEFLOW PLUS Fluid Infuser
A hand-operated rapid infusion device: each compression of the handle displaces 10 mL, with no batteries, no electronics and no pressure cuff. 0.95 lb, one-hand capable, and validated by the manufacturer for IV fluids, packed red blood cells and whole blood through a 20-gauge or larger catheter.
10 mL per compressionFully manual — no power0.95 lb · 12 × 7.5 × 2.75 in.NAR 30-0287

Precision and speed usually trade against each other. A fixed 10 mL per squeeze is how this device refuses the trade — you get the rate, and you still know exactly how much went in.

VIEW ▾What's in the Package — item 30-0287 · 0.95 lb
  • 1× LifeFlow® PLUS hand-operated infusion device — ergonomic handle displacing 10 mL per compression, one-hand capable
  • 1× Tubing set, packaged together with the handle so the device sets up without a separate assembly sequence
  • 1× Bacterial contamination shield over the syringe mechanism, protecting it from environmental exposure between uses
  • No IV catheter, no fluids and no blood products are included. You supply the catheter — the manufacturer specifies a minimum of 20 gauge — and the fluid or blood product.
  • No blood or fluid warmer is included. The manufacturer notes QinFlow has validated compatibility with the Warrior EXTREME warmer, but that device is a separate purchase.
  • No IV start kit, tourniquet, prep or securement components are included.

Every delivery rate above is the manufacturer's own figure, and each one carries its test condition: 500 mL in under 2 minutes and one unit of whole blood in approximately 2 minutes are both stated through a 20-gauge catheter, at a compression rate the manufacturer describes as sustainable. Rate in your hands will depend on the catheter you actually placed, the viscosity of what you are giving and how long the person squeezing can keep it up. The comparison figures on the legacy page — gravity drip at 80 to 200 mL/hour, a 300 mmHg pressure bag at 80 to 120 mL/min — are that page's own comparison table and are not reproduced as specifications of this device. Several things the legacy page said have been deliberately dropped. It described patient populations and clinical scenarios for the device, including a pediatric volume-resuscitation claim, and it characterised classes of hemorrhagic shock. This page states none of that. Whether volume resuscitation is indicated, what volume, at what rate, in which patient and of which product, is a clinical decision made under your protocol and your medical direction. Placing vascular access and administering blood products are credentialed skills, and blood administration in particular is governed by transfusion policy that this listing does not speak to.

Who Carries It

Far-forward and prolonged field care providers doing damage control resuscitation where power is not available and a pressure infuser is not practical · Flight, critical care and CASEVAC transport teams continuing volume delivery during movement · EMS agencies with a whole blood or blood product program, where field administration rate is the limiting factor · Emergency departments and resuscitation bays wanting a manual rapid infuser as backup to powered equipment · Military and tactical medical providers whose loadout cannot carry a rapid infuser that needs a battery.

Two practical points before you buy. First, the device is only as fast as the access: the manufacturer's rates assume a 20-gauge catheter or larger, and a smaller catheter will not deliver them no matter how hard the handle is worked. Second, it is manual — the rate depends on a person maintaining a compression cadence, which is a real constraint over a long resuscitation with a small team. Administering fluids or blood products, choosing what and how much, and deciding when to stop are clinical decisions made under your licensure, your medical direction and your agency's transfusion and resuscitation policy. Blood administration in particular carries policy requirements — product handling, cold chain, identification, consent and documentation — that a device listing does not address. This page describes equipment; it is not a resuscitation protocol and is not a substitute for training.
