What It Is

The ADVANCED is Safeguard Medical’s maximum-capability Mojo® configuration in pocket form. It closes the gap left by simpler kits by adding Battle Wrap — a high-strength, see-through cohesive wrap that anchors packed gauze after wound packing. Without a securement wrap, packed hemostatic gauze can be displaced by patient movement or continued blood flow, losing its clotting advantage; the transparent Battle Wrap allows the wound to be monitored without removing the dressing.

The CoTCCC-recommended mechanical tourniquet provides windlass-type arterial occlusion — the standard approach for extremity hemorrhage in the TCCC MARCH sequence. When an extremity tourniquet cannot be applied (junctional or torso wound), the Celox™ Rapid gauze addresses the bleed through wound packing. Together the two tools cover the majority of life-threatening hemorrhage scenarios a responder will face.

The Mojo® system is built around a belt-mountable, pocket-sized profile so a responder keeps an immediately accessible hemorrhage-control capability even without a full tactical rig. Plainclothes officers, duty officers in soft uniform, off-duty personnel, and civilians in non-permissive settings can carry the ADVANCED without a visible gear signature. At 6.9 oz, it stores in a cargo pocket, jacket pocket, or IFAK side pocket.

Operating notes. For a limb bleed, the tourniquet is applied high and tight on the proximal third of the affected limb — never over or directly adjacent to a joint — and tightened until bright bleeding stops, with time of application noted. For a wound not amenable to a tourniquet, the cavity is packed firmly with Celox™ Rapid and sustained pressure held to allow clot formation, then secured with Battle Wrap to maintain pressure and prevent displacement. This summary is not a substitute for accredited training or local protocol.

Who Carries the Mojo® Pocket Bleeder Kit — ADVANCED

  • Law enforcement on and off duty — plainclothes-compatible size with CoTCCC-grade tourniquet + hemostatic gauze coverage.
  • Tactical medics needing a slim secondary kit — backup to a full ruck without the weight and bulk of a second IFAK.
  • EMS providers — pocket-sized trauma capability for bystander assist before the unit reaches scene.
  • Military personnel in administrative or garrison environments — duty-pocket carry when a full kit is not authorized or practical.
  • Trained civilians with completed Stop the Bleed or TCCC/TECC courses — maximum capability in minimum footprint for everyday carry.

Mojo® ADVANCED vs. Similar Pocket Hemorrhage Control Kits

  • Mojo® ADVANCED (SKU 88-100-03): TMT® tourniquet + Celox™ Rapid + Battle Wrap + gloves + MARCH™ card — complete extremity and deep-wound coverage at 6.9 oz.
  • Mojo® INTERMEDIATE (SKU 88-100-02): Same items minus Battle Wrap — sacrifices gauze securement in exchange for a slightly lighter carry.
  • Mojo® BASIC (SKU 88-100-01): SWAT-T™ only — EDC-minimum, no wound-packing capability.
  • Mojo® Belt Holster w/TMT: Same TMT® tourniquet in a quick-draw 500D nylon holster — belt/MOLLE mount, no hemostatic gauze included.
  • NAR Individual Patrol Officer Kit: Comparable capability tier but larger form factor; the Mojo® ADVANCED fits in a cargo pocket where larger IFAKs cannot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does Battle Wrap add that the INTERMEDIATE configuration lacks?

A: Battle Wrap is a high-strength, see-through cohesive wrap that secures packed hemostatic gauze after wound packing. Without it, packed gauze can be displaced by patient movement or continued blood flow, breaking the forming clot. The transparent material also lets caregivers monitor wound status without disturbing the dressing — a discrete but clinically important advantage over improvised tape or bandage securement.

Q: Is Celox™ Rapid effective for anticoagulated patients?

A: Celox™ Rapid is a chitosan-based hemostatic gauze that works by absorbing fluid and forming a gel-like clot independent of the patient's coagulation cascade. Published data and clinical reports support its effectiveness in patients on anticoagulant therapy, where factor-dependent hemostatic agents may underperform. Confirm current CoTCCC/TECC guidance for your operational context.

Q: Can this kit be used for a junctional wound (groin, axilla, neck)?

A: Celox™ Rapid is suitable for wound packing at junctional sites where a tourniquet cannot be applied. Battle Wrap provides circumferential pressure over packed groin or axillary wounds. For high-volume junctional bleeding, a junctional tourniquet (e.g., SAM JT or Combat Ready Clamp) provides mechanical occlusion beyond what manual pressure and gauze packing can maintain.

Q: How compact is the Mojo® ADVANCED compared to a standard IFAK?

A: At approximately 5″ × 3″ × 1″ and 6.9 oz, the ADVANCED is roughly wallet-to-palm sized — about one-third the volume of a standard IFAK pouch. It fits in a cargo pocket, jacket interior pocket, or IFAK side sleeve without printing through clothing.
