The base NAR-5 SAR Aid Kit provides fundamental first aid capability, but did not originally include all supplies required to meet the CNO's full TCCC standard. This Supplemental TCCC Upgrade Kit is the purpose-built solution — a set of five specific item categories that, when added to a NAR-5 SAR Aid Kit, brings it into complete CNO SAR Model Manager compliance.
Four Combat Gauze Z-Fold hemostatic dressings (CoTCCC-recommended) address the leading cause of preventable combat/trauma death — uncontrolled hemorrhage. Four ARS Needle Decompression needles (14 GA × 3.25 in.) provide the capability to decompress a tension pneumothorax — particularly critical in aviation environments where pressure changes can worsen chest injuries. Four pre-lubricated 28F NPAs (Nasopharyngeal Airways) address airway obstruction. The SAM Pelvic Sling addresses pelvic fractures, which are frequently underdiagnosed in trauma but carry high mortality risk. Four polycarbonate eye shields round out the contents.
