As the bariatric patient population grows and special operations units increasingly operate in non-standard environments, the need for a litter specifically designed for larger patients has become operationally significant. The OSL Oversized Litter directly addresses this requirement.
The OSL's 31 in. open width (versus 22.5 in. on the Raven 90C) provides a 37% wider patient surface, accommodating patients whose size or injury profile makes standard litters uncomfortable or unsafe for extended transport. Six stirrups — versus two on the standard 90C — provide significantly firmer patient support and more even floor weight distribution, reducing tipping risk and improving stability during helicopter or vehicle loading.
Constructed from the same Nomex/Kevlar-blend flame-retardant fabric as high-performance military litter systems, the OSL is certified safe-to-fly by the U.S. Air Force — enabling MEDEVAC hoist and aircraft loading operations. The bi-fold configuration mirrors the Raven 90C's compact storage format, and an optional supplemental backrest (sold separately) allows the patient to be supported at 90° and 45° angles for specific medical or transport requirements.
