Product Overview

The Philips HeartStart OnSite is the most widely recognized public-access AED in the United States, designed specifically for environments where trained medical personnel are not immediately available. Offices, schools, gyms, retail spaces, houses of worship, and sports venues benefit most from the OnSite's signature "virtually ready" design: the device comes pre-configured with battery and SMART Pads installed, requiring only the pull of the green handle to activate and begin guided rescue.

The OnSite's SMART Analysis technology continuously analyzes the victim's cardiac rhythm and withholds shock advice unless a shockable rhythm — ventricular fibrillation or pulseless ventricular tachycardia — is detected. Voice instructions adapt in real time to the rescuer's actions: the system does not advance to the next step until the current one is complete, and repeats and rephrases instructions if the rescuer pauses. An audible metronome guides CPR rate, and verbal feedback guides compression depth.

The SMART Pads integrate with the device to provide bidirectional feedback. When pads are placed correctly, they signal the device to adapt its prompts to the rescuer's pace and confirm heart rhythm assessment before advising treatment. The cartridge-based pad system protects the adhesive gel from drying out and provides a use-by date indicator. The device runs 85 automatic self-tests daily, weekly, and monthly — including pad integrity and battery capacity — and emits an audible chirp if any component requires attention.
