Product Overview

Trauma shears are among the most-reached-for tools in any IFAK or medical kit — used to rapidly cut through clothing, gear, and straps to expose wounds for assessment and treatment. Not all shears are created equal. Cheap shears dull within a few uses, jam when cutting heavy-duty fabric or MOLLE webbing, or lack the ergonomic design that allows effective cutting in a single-handed or gloved-hand scenario. The EMI E.T.R.™ shears are engineered to eliminate these compromises.

The premium-grade stainless steel blades maintain their edge through extended use and resist corrosion in field conditions involving blood, sweat, and exposure to the elements. The serrated lower blade grips fabric as it cuts — particularly important for thick materials like denim, belt webbing, or MultiCam uniforms — while the blunt-angled safety tips prevent accidental injury to the patient during rapid clothing removal. The black coating on the blades reduces glare, an important tactical consideration for operators who must use their kit discreetly.

The non-slip contoured handles are fully ambidextrous, enabling equal effectiveness in either hand — critical for medics who may need to switch hands mid-procedure or work in confined spaces. How to Use Trauma Shears in a TCCC Setting

1. Position the blunt-tipped blade against the skin and insert under clothing seam or along a natural body contour.
2. Cut in smooth strokes — the serrated blade grips fabric for effective cutting even through heavy-duty materials.
3. For tactical armor: cut the straps and panels away from the torso systematically; do not attempt to lift the vest over suspected spinal injuries.
4. Expose the full wound area before applying dressings — partial exposure leads to missed wounds.
5. For tourniquet application: cut above the wound site to expose bare limb for proper tourniquet placement.

Color Options
