Product Overview

The QUANTUM Field Blood Transfusion Kit integrates NAR's QUANTUM warming system with a complete set of donor and recipient supplies, eliminating the need to assemble components from multiple sources. Designed for Prolonged Field Care (PFC) and Prolonged Casualty Care (PCC) scenarios, the kit enables a single medic to screen a donor, collect whole blood, verify blood type compatibility with the Eldon card system, and administer warmed blood to the recipient — all with materials that conform to Joint Theater Trauma System (JTTS) Clinical Practice Guidelines.

The inclusion of the QUANTUM warming system is particularly significant. Cold blood transfusion in the field contributes to the "lethal triad" of trauma (hypothermia, acidosis, coagulopathy). The QUANTUM heats refrigerated blood to a safe normothermic output temperature in just 24 seconds, at the lightest operational weight of any portable warmer in its class. By combining warming capability with complete transfusion consumables, this kit removes logistical barriers to implementing warm-blood resuscitation at or near the point of injury.

The donor module provides all materials for blood collection and pre-transfusion blood type screening, including Vacutainer tubes for surveillance samples, while the recipient module contains the Y-type IV administration set with blood filter (170–260 µm) and Eldon card for confirming recipient type. The separated module structure allows medics to organize and access supplies systematically under pressure, reducing setup errors during high-stress casualty care.
