The hemorrhage control core includes a black CoTCCC-recommended C-A-T® tourniquet, two packs of NAR Compressed Gauze for wound packing, and a 6-inch Emergency Trauma Dressing for pressure bandage application. Penetrating chest wounds — the second leading cause of preventable trauma death — are addressed with the HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Pack, which provides two vented seals to manage hemopneumothorax while preventing tension pneumothorax from developing. Nitrile gloves and trauma shears complete the clinical response package.

What distinguishes the SRO kit from a standard IFAK is the inclusion of the NAR Hasty Harness — a 22-foot sling of 1-inch Tech Tape that can be configured for point-of-wounding drag, assisted carry, hoisting, and lowering.
