Product Overview
The TacMed™ Basic Airway Kit provides a structured, escalating airway management capability built around proven adjuncts that align with TCCC and civilian BLS/ALS airway protocols. Rather than stocking individual items separately, the kit consolidates the essential airway inventory into a single pre-assembled unit — reducing equipment preparation time and eliminating the risk of missing a critical component when airway management is urgently needed.
The foundation of the kit is the 28 French NPA with Surgilube — the CoTCCC-recommended nasopharyngeal airway size for adult trauma casualties. The NPA provides a patent nasopharyngeal passage for spontaneously breathing or partially obtunded casualties, positioned without requiring mouth opening and tolerated in patients with reduced but present gag reflex. Two Berman oropharyngeal airways (sizes 4 and 5) expand OPA capability to accommodate varying adult airway anatomies — size 4 (90mm) for average adult, size 5 (100mm) for larger adults — for use in deeply unresponsive patients with absent gag reflex.
The King LTD size 4 supraglottic airway provides backup airway capability when NPA and OPA adjuncts are insufficient for airway maintenance — or when ventilation support is needed in unconscious patients. The King LTD is a CoTCCC-recognized supraglottic airway device that can be placed without laryngoscopy by trained providers. The CPR Pocket Mask enables barrier-protected rescue breathing for airway providers across both adult and pediatric casualties.
