Product Overview
The TacMed™ Phantom® Litter represents the most advanced solution to the individual soldier's evacuation challenge: carrying a capable litter without sacrificing any of the kit space, vest real estate, or weight allocation needed for primary mission equipment. At just 15 oz in its internal mount configuration and packing to a 10 × 7 × 1.5 inch profile, the Phantom is less than a third of the weight of any comparably capable evacuation platform — and it is the only litter designed to mount inside body armor systems.
The internal version was specifically designed to fit inside the Eagle Industries Modular Body Armor Vest (MBAV) and the Special Forces plate carrier with cummerbund — two of the most common body armor systems in use by US special operations forces. The Phantom carrier mounts behind other vest components without interfering with magazine, radio, or hydration pouch accessibility. Other equipment can be mounted directly over the Phantom carrier, making the litter effectively invisible in the operator's kit profile. This enables every individual on a small team to carry personal CASEVAC capability without any net weight or space cost.
The Phantom's dual-function design provides secondary utility after the casualty is transferred to a standard litter: the Phantom bag can then hold the casualty's combat equipment, sensitive items, personal effects, and weapons to minimize the risk of loss during evacuation — a meaningful operational and accountability benefit during complex casualty scenarios. Eight grab handles and a 1.5-inch friction-buckle strap provide flexible carry options across multiple personnel heights and configurations, and the litter's 450 lb rated capacity (tested to 500 lb static load for 24 hours without damage) ensures structural integrity under all patient weights.
