Product Overview
The TacMed™ Rescue Task Force Litter was purpose-built for the RTF operational model — where integrated law enforcement and EMS teams enter warm zones to provide immediate care and extract casualties before scenes are fully cleared. Every design decision reflects the constraints of this mission: the litter must be small enough to attach to the individual's kit, light enough to carry without impeding tactical movement, and deployable fast enough that the RTF member doesn't need to stop and rig equipment during a warm zone entry.
The improved plastic bed is a key advancement over standard mesh poleless litters: it provides a firmer surface for casualty stabilization during rough-terrain dragging and significantly extends product life when litters are repeatedly dragged across pavement, gravel, and debris — the actual surfaces encountered during active shooter, explosion, or structural collapse operations. Larger buckles on the quick-secure straps ensure that RTF members wearing rescue gloves can secure and release the casualty without removing their gloves or requiring fine motor dexterity compromised by stress or cold conditions.
The pre-rigged drag line enables immediate single-person extraction without setup time. Multiple grab points allow transitioning between drag and carry configurations as terrain and personnel availability changes. Like the Foxtrot platform, the RTF Litter's poleless design allows the casualty to be sat upright to navigate stairwell turns and aircraft exits — a critical capability in the multi-story buildings and transit systems where active threat events most commonly occur. The casualty remains accessible for treatment reassessment throughout movement.
