Hemorrhage control kits provide tourniquets and bandages; airway kits provide NPAs and airways — but the small diagnostic and utility tools that providers reach for constantly (a thermometer for temperature assessment, a light for pupil checks and wound visualization, shears for clothing removal, a Sharpie for tourniquet time documentation) are often inconsistently staged or missing from kits entirely.
