The HEMGUARD® Targeted Pressure Bandage by 6:8 Medical Solutions is the only pressure bandage that offers four distinct features in one product: problematic site bandaging capability, 4-way anchoring redirection, mechanical advantage in two directions, and a targeted pressure head that prevents rebleed and constriction complications. Available in 4 in and 6 in widths, FDA listed and CE marked, it is designed for neck, axillary, groin, and amputated limb wound management.

The Four Key Features
- Problematic Site Solution: Specifically designed for anatomically challenging sites — neck, axillary (armpit), groin, and amputated limb stumps — where traditional bandages cannot achieve or maintain adequate pressure.
- 4-Way Redirection: Allows the bandage to be anchored in up to four directions, enabling consistent, focused point pressure even when the anatomy makes linear wrapping difficult.
- Mechanical Advantage: Applies leveraged compression in two directions simultaneously, maximizing pressure with minimal provider effort.
- Targeted Pressure Head: The integrated Popp Point Pressure™ head concentrates force directly onto the bleeding source — preventing rebleed while avoiding circumferential constriction complications.
Product Overview
The HEMGUARD® is the bandage component of 6:8 Medical Solutions' Popp Point Pressure™ system — a hemorrhage control product line developed specifically to address wound sites where conventional pressure bandages fail. Conventional elastic bandages and Israeli-type dressings excel at extremity wounds because circumferential wrapping is possible. At junctional sites — axilla, groin, neck, stump — circumferential wrapping either cannot be achieved or creates dangerous constriction risk. The HEMGUARD solves this with a targeted pressure head that delivers downward force directly onto the wound while the 4-way anchoring system holds the bandage in position without requiring full circumferential wrapping.
The mechanical advantage built into the HEMGUARD design enables a provider to achieve and maintain clinically meaningful wound pressure with significantly less physical effort than manually holding an improvised dressing. This is important during extended evacuation scenarios where the provider may be fatigued, treating multiple patients, or where one-provider care is required. The 5-year shelf life and compact packaged size (4.5 in × 9.75 in × 1.5 in) make it suitable for IFAK and plate-carrier integration.
