Product Overview
The ZOLL AED Plus was the first AED to integrate Real CPR Help® technology — providing simultaneous real-time feedback on both compression depth and compression rate. Studies have shown that even trained rescuers frequently deliver suboptimal CPR compressions: ZOLL's research indicates Real CPR Help combined with training more than doubles survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest. The AED Plus remains one of the most widely deployed professional-grade AEDs in the public safety and military communities.
The CPR-D-padz® one-piece electrode is a distinctive feature: rather than separate pads connected by a cable, the CPR-D-padz center bridge is placed over the sternum, and the two electrode pads are positioned laterally on the chest in a single fluid motion. The center bridge houses a pressure sensor that detects compression depth and rate, transmitting that data to the AED Plus in real time. An adaptive metronome adjusts its pacing to help the rescuer achieve and maintain the AHA-recommended rate of 100–120 compressions per minute.
A critical logistics advantage of the AED Plus is its battery system: the device runs on 10 standard Duracell® 123 lithium batteries available at most retail locations worldwide — not a proprietary battery pack. This makes field battery replacement straightforward in any environment, including military FOBs and remote civilian locations. The 10-year battery shelf life and 5-year installed standby life provide exceptional total cost of ownership. The Rectilinear Biphasic™ waveform is the only FDA-cleared biphasic of its type and has demonstrated clinical superiority over other biphasic profiles for high-impedance patients.
