What is QuickStop Spray and why is it included in this kit?

QuickStop Spray is a topical hemostatic spray designed for surface wounds, lacerations, and wounds where direct gauze packing is not practical. It contains hemostatic agents that promote clotting on contact with blood. Its inclusion in the Quick Access Bleeding Control IFAK provides an additional tool for managing wounds that don't require tourniquet application or deep packing — such as facial wounds, scalp lacerations, or superficial extremity wounds alongside a primary injury.

How does the Quick Access Bleeding Control IFAK compare to the MED-TAC Premium Trauma IFAK?

Both kits are assembled by MED-TAC International with genuine name-brand supplies. The Quick Access Bleeding Control IFAK (LXPB45-SKQ) uses the Lightning X LXPB45 pouch and includes QuickStop Spray and 7.5-inch trauma shears. The Premium Trauma IFAK (LXPB15) uses the LXPB15 pouch and adds a 28FR NPA airway, CPR mask, burn dressing, alcohol swabs, iodine wipes, and self-adherent gauze roll — making it the more complete kit for prolonged or multi-threat scenarios.

Is the HyFin® Vent chest seal in this kit appropriate for all chest wound scenarios?

The HyFin® Vent Chest Seal is a vented chest seal designed for open chest wounds (sucking chest wounds) to prevent tension pneumothorax while allowing air to escape through the one-way valve. The twin pack provides two seals — one for the entry wound and one for the exit wound if present. For tension pneumothorax already developed, needle chest decompression (not included) would be required by a trained provider.

Is this kit suitable for law enforcement vehicle kits?

Yes. The Quick Access Bleeding Control IFAK is well-suited for vehicle medical kits. Its compact 8×6×3-inch footprint mounts easily to vehicle seats, consoles, or MOLLE panels. Having a vehicle-staged kit separate from a body-worn kit ensures medical supplies remain available even when the officer's personal IFAK has been deployed. MED-TAC recommends both a body-worn and vehicle-staged kit for patrol vehicles.

Does this kit include CoTCCC-recommended supplies?

Yes. The kit includes the NAR C-A-T® (CoTCCC-recommended tourniquet), QuikClot® 3×24-inch clotting gauze (CoTCCC-recommended hemostatic dressing), and HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Pack (consistent with CoTCCC guidelines for open chest wounds). These three items cover the Massive Hemorrhage and Respiration phases of the MARCH protocol.
