King Airway — LTS-D Supraglottic Airways
A disposable dual-lumen laryngeal tube with a separate gastric drain channel — advanced-provider airway.
What is the King LTS-D Supraglottic Airway? The King LTS-D™ (by Ambu, formerly King Systems) is a disposable laryngeal-tube supraglottic airway for positive-pressure ventilation and spontaneously breathing patients, with a dual-lumen design providing a separate drain tube for gastric access. Available in Size 3 (height <61 in.), Size 4 (61–71 in.), and Size 5 (>71 in.). Each kit includes the LTS-D device, gastric diverter, 60cc syringe, 18F gastric tube, and sterile lubricant. Advanced provider only.
Supraglottic airway placement is an advanced airway skill. Per CoTCCC guidance, EGA placement without RSI requires a deeply comatose patient, and operational use requires medical-director authorization and hands-on training. This page describes the device and its specifications and is not a substitute for accredited airway training, and is not a procedural how-to.

What It Is
The King LTS-D is a widely used supraglottic airway in EMS, critical-care transport, and emergency medicine. The “LTS-D” designates the Laryngeal Tube Suction–Disposable variant, which adds a separate drain-tube lumen allowing gastric decompression by suction catheter without removing the airway. This distinguishes it from the basic King LT (no gastric channel) and makes it the preferred variant where aspiration risk is a concern during prolonged airway management.
A single inflation port inflates both the oropharyngeal and distal esophageal cuffs simultaneously, with ventilation occurring through the ports between the cuffs, over the laryngeal inlet. The design supports positive-pressure ventilation, making it suitable for moderate-pressure scenarios.
Size selection is by patient height rather than weight (unlike the i-gel). Size 4 fits the majority of average adults (61–71 in.). The included gastric tube and diverter allow gastric access for decompression without airway removal, and the color-coded sizes with single-inflation design support rapid deployment.
