Product Overview

Medical tape is a cornerstone of trauma care packaging, securing IV lines, wound dressings, occlusive seals, and airway adjuncts in environments where hands may be bloody, gloved, or trembling. The NAR 2" Flat Medical Tape solves the perennial problem of tape storage in compact kits: a standard roll occupies too much volume and the loose end inevitably sticks to itself under field conditions.

The solution is the flat-pack format. Six individual 2" × 15" strips of genuine 3M Durapore™ silk medical tape are tri-folded and lightly vacuum-sealed into a clear resealable poly bag measuring just 0.34 inches thick. Each strip features easy-release peel-off backing that allows single-handed application even with gloved hands. The 3M Durapore material offers strong adhesion to skin and medical devices while remaining gentle enough for repeated repositioning without skin damage — a critical feature for prolonged field care (PFC) scenarios where dressings may need adjustment.

Originally developed for integration into NAR IFAKs and medical kits issued to military personnel, the flat-pack format directly addresses the space constraints of modern chest-mounted, wrist, or thigh-mounted trauma kits. The resealable bag prevents the unused strips from contamination between uses and allows the kit to be repacked without degradation. Compatible with all standard IFAK builds, the NAR Flat Tape is a straightforward upgrade over carrying a bulky tape roll.

It integrates seamlessly with NAR vacuum-sealed components and occupies minimal space in MOLLE pouches, cargo pockets, or vehicle first-aid kits. For units building individual first aid kits (IFAKs) for personnel, this tape can be issued as part of the standard kit load-out without adding meaningful bulk or weight.
