Product Overview
The HPMK® is the gold standard for battlefield and pre-hospital hypothermia prevention — the only system with CoTCCC recommendation status that combines a reinforced, patented HRS outer shell with an integrated self-heating liner in a single vacuum-packaged kit. This system was developed specifically to address the lethal triad's hypothermia component in the far-forward combat casualty care environment, where passive insulation alone is insufficient and powered warming devices are impractical.
The HRS outer shell provides the thermal envelope: 4-ply composite fabric with a non-conductive reflective layer blocks radiant heat loss, wind, and rain. The tapered shape maximizes isothermal properties by minimizing air gaps. 360° continuous Velcro® access allows providers to perform reassessments, wound checks, and IV maintenance without removing the covering. The self-heating oxygen-activated liner inserts inside the HRS and sustains 10 continuous hours of dry heat output — sufficient to maintain patient temperature through the most extended tactical evacuation timelines.
The vacuum packaging compresses the kit to its minimum cube — H 6.75 in × W 10.5 in × D 5.5 in at 3 lb 8 oz — for integration into medic bags, aid bags, and IFAK pouches. NAR Red Tip Technology® provides pull-tab access that works reliably with gloved hands and in low-light conditions. Once opened, the HRS deploys rapidly to its full 78 in × 43 in coverage area, encapsulating the patient completely from head to toe.
