Product Overview
The AHA strongly recommends supplemental oxygen delivery as a component of cardiac arrest resuscitation — yet most public-access AED programs deploy only the defibrillator without a companion oxygen source. The LIFE SoftPac bridges this gap, providing a purpose-built portable O2 unit sized to co-locate with any AED and deploy in the same rapid response sequence. A simple knob selects between 6 LPM (FDA-required minimum) and 12 LPM (AHA-recommended high-flow), eliminating the confusion of complex flow regulator adjustments during a resuscitation emergency.
Three clinical use scenarios make the SoftPac valuable across the full cardiac event spectrum: supplemental oxygen for a breathing victim who shows early signs of cardiac compromise before arrest occurs; oxygen-enriched CPR through mask delivery to a non-breathing victim during the resuscitation cycle; and continued supplemental oxygen post-defibrillation when the patient has return of spontaneous circulation but requires O2 support pending EMS arrival. The constant-reading supply gauge is readable through a window on the unit without activating it — a practical feature for monthly compliance checks in AED programs. Most portable O2 units require activation to check supply, risking inadvertent cylinder depletion during routine inspections.
