Product Overview
The RANGER Sked was designed by and for U.S. Army Rangers — operators who must move casualties and equipment through terrain and scenarios where conventional litters are impractical. Its core innovation is the flexible drag sheet format: unlike a rigid litter, the Sked conforms to terrain, can be dragged around corners, pulled through brush, and maneuvered through openings too narrow for a stretcher. Five cobra-buckle cross straps secure the casualty for both drag operations and carry — the six sewn-on handles enable six-point carry by a four-to-six person team.
The 12-foot drag rope with adjustable grommets allows the rope to be shortened to different effective lengths based on terrain, corridor width, or team size — pulling the rope further through the grommets and tying overhand knots adjusts the working length without cutting. The plastic tube handle protects the rescuer's hands during extended drags over rough terrain. The Coyote Brown colorway provides appropriate field camouflage for tactical operations; a retainer strap keeps the rolled Sked secure in transport.
The Sked is carried either by the six sewn-on webbing handles in a team carry configuration, or dragged via the rope. It is not rated for helicopter hoist operations — for vertical extraction, purpose-built hoist-rated slings must be used. The combination of light weight, compact rolled dimensions, and extreme versatility has made the Ranger Sked a standard item in special operations and tactical medicine inventories for over three decades.
